Local storm shelter installation companies say they’re seeing an increase in people calling and asking about storm shelters.
They say they usually see an increase in callers after a big severe weather event like happened Sunday.
Survivor Shelters said they’ve also had a lot of walk ins on Monday and Tuesday. They said all of their shelters are tested to withstand an EF-5 tornado.
They also say their wait times for installation are now around five-eight weeks, which has gone up since last week.
FamilySAFE said they’ve also received a large number of calls since Sunday. They’ve had several installations in the past few days.
