Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum Signs Mask Ordinance

Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum has officially signed an ordinance that would require anyone in city limits to wear a mask in public.

Bynum said in a Tweet, "the mask ordinance is signed and in effect. We do this at the request of our hospitals, our doctors and nurses, our school leaders, and so many more who want to protect the ability of local health care systems to serve Tulsans in need."

Masks will now be required for people in public in Tulsa who are 18 years and older.

This includes places like grocery stores, retail stores, places of worship, and other public areas where physical distancing cannot be followed.

There are some exceptions to the ordinance. That Includes medical reasons, eating or drinking, and driving.

The ordinance will be enforced by Tulsa police.
