Trial Begins For Tulsa Man Accused Of Killing His Wife

The murder trial has started for a man charged with shooting and killing his wife in their home near 81st and Sheridan in May of 2022.

Investigators say Charles Bradley called 911, saying he found his wife Sandra, dead and he said he may have killed her.

Prosecutors played the 911 call for the jury after opening statements. The first thing Charles Bradley says in the 911 call is, "I think I may have killed my wife. She's dead."

Prosecutors argue Bradley killed his wife intentionally, but Bradley's attorney says he was having a nightmare and was unconscious when he shot her. Prosecutors say Charles shot and killed his wife Sandra early in the morning while she was getting ready for work. Prosecutors say despite any excuses about why he shot Sandra, it was murder.

Bradley's attorney says Bradley has PTSD from his time serving in the Vietnam War and has had hundreds of horrific nightmares. They say thunderstorms that night triggered his nightmare. Bradley told the 911 dispatcher he "thought we were under an attack" and that it sounded like a mortar attack. He told the dispatcher "I thought I was dreaming. I really don't know what happened." then Bradley goes on to say, "I can't believe I did this."

Bradley posted a million-dollar bond a week after he was arrested and has been out on bond since.

Sandra's daughter and cousin testified today, and prosecutors will have several more witnesses, and will likely show body camera. Bradley's attorney has implied Bradley might take the stand. The trial is expected to wrap up Thursday or Friday.
