A driver has died after crashing their car into a building in Sperry, causing it to catch fire and collapse.

Witnesses told fire crews that the driver of the vehicle was speeding down a street before it ran into the building.

The car caught fire which then caused the entire building to go up in flames before it collapsed.

Firefighters were able to get the car and the driver out of the building before fighting the fire. The driver was taken to the hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.

Crews on scene said a telephone pole collapsed near the building, as well.
