Sapulpa Public Schools Teachers, Staff Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

Sapulpa teachers and staff are getting their COVID-19 vaccines with the help of a partnership between the district and a pharmacy.

Leaders hope it will help parents and families feel a sense of security as students continue in-person learning.

"The vaccine is important, and we have had a lot of employees and teachers express interest in it,” Aaron McColloch said.

Communications Director, Aaron McColloch said help from Med-World Pharmacy made this event possible.

McColloch said the district wants to keep students in the classroom as long as it's safe.

Med-World Pharmacy is a contracted agent with the state and has been providing the vaccine to Oklahomans during the state's first two phases of its distribution plan.

Owner Travis Wolff said this is the fifth school the pharmacy has delivered vaccines to this week.

“We reached out to any school that we've already have had a relationship with,” Wolff said.

High School Math teacher Krista Armstrong got her first dose today and is already scheduled for her second dose.

"Very comforting that we can maybe stay in person and not expose others and be exposed ourselves,” Armstrong said.

Med-World Pharmacy will also be administering the vaccine again tomorrow morning at Freedom Elementary.
