Back in June, three victims in two cars were hit by a wrong-way driver on an early weekday morning. Now, one of the victims is opening up about her recovery process.

The body camera footage from first responders shows Brandi Toney being pulled from her burning car.

Jorge Pina slammed into three victims inside two separate cars.

Toney is still on the mend.

"When they pulled me out of the vehicle, my legs were actually stuck in the floorboard,” Toney said.

Toney said she can count the numbers of bones in her body not broken. As she continues to recover, her family decided this weekend was a perfect weekend for a cookout.

"Every day is a gift," Toney said. "Enjoy it because tomorrow is never promised."

Toney wanted to surprise her family with a special gift as she takes some of her first steps after the accident.

But there was a bigger surprise in store. During the family gathering, Toney was asked for her hand in marriage.

The family becomes whole again but will never forget those difficult days in June caused by what police believe to be a drunk driver.

Pina died at the scene.

"He changed my life forever," Toney said. "Please don't drink and drive. That is all I can say."
