10-Year-Old Remembered Following Her Battle With Cancer

A 10-year-old was remembered Saturday for her courageous battle with cancer.

Isabella Gracelynn Henderson died this week and her soccer teammates said she’ll never be forgotten. Friends of Henderson said, just like sports, life comes in seasons.

While the team experienced a major loss this season, they said heaven gained an angel.

"She was such an amazing person,” aunt Monica Rubio said.

Henderson died after a long battle with stage 4 metastatic alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma or ARMS.

Friends and family held a funeral Saturday to celebrate Henderson's life and the lives she touched.

Isabella’s coaches, Jason and Erica Rosser, said she fought hard until the very end.

"She really inspired us to do well and come together and brought our team closer together than I thought they ever would be,” Jason Rosser said.

"Even though she only had 10 years, she lived a lot in those 10 years and made the best of it,” Erica Rosser said.

Henderson’s teammates said that the 10-year-old was quite the prankster. They said she was a real firecracker and an old soul, but said she had a heart of gold and smile that lit up the field.

"Isabella was the joy of the team and I feel, and I feel like we just lost the joy of the team,” teammate Rian Lytle said.

"Isabella was a great friend,” teammate Tressi Hunsaker said.

“She was really nice,” teammate Marcy Clark said.

"She wanted to be a soccer star and so I'm going to try and reach that point for her,” teammate Eden Rosser said.

"Bella was one of the best girls on the team with her bright blue cleats,” teammate Molly Prickett said.

"Really inspiring kid,” teammate Zoey Gordon said. “She loved to help people and care for them and stand up for them.”

Henderson's mother said she doesn't know how she'll get through this but looks forward to the day when she can see her daughter again.

"She was so perfect in every way,” Payton Price Norman Henderson said.

Isabella’s aunt said she misses their early breakfast dates and sleepless nights.

“I wish that everyone could've gotten a chance to know her,” Rubio said.

Friends at the funeral said they find hope in the bible verse Ecclesiastes 3:4 that reads, "There is a time to weep and a time to laugh, A time to mourn and a time to dance.”

Friends of Isabella said God created her not just for the 10 years she spent on Earth but for an eternity in heaven.
