Police Officers in Washington state are searching for a suspect involved in a deadly officer-involved shooting.

Police say this all happened around 9:40 last night following a chase, near Bothell, Washington. According to police, the driver of the car took off after officers tried to pull him over. Not long after, police say the suspect shot two officers killing one of them.

"There was a very short pursuit with reports that someone was running from the vehicle. As other officers arrived to assist unfortunately they found that one officer was deceased the other was taken to Harborview medical center. At this point in time, we don't have a lot of other information. We will be conducting an investigation about the pursuit itself and the shooting there at the end."

Police say after the shooting the suspect ran away and police are still searching for him Tuesday morning. They say he is armed and dangerous.

Police say the other officer who was shot is in the hospital but is expected to be okay.
