TCSO: Man Who Broke Into Ex-Girlfriend's Home Killed By Deputy

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says a deputy shot and killed a man Wednesday night near Sperry.

TCSO spokesperson Casey Roebuck says the shooting happened just after 10 p.m.  She says the deputy had responded to a 911 call at a home in the 7600 block of North Madison.

Roebuck says the victim called 911 saying she awoke to her ex-boyfriend standing over her bed. The woman also said she had a protective order against him.

By the time the deputy arrived, the suspect had left the home.  Roebuck says the deputy quickly located the suspect and ordered him to stop, but instead the man ran off with the deputy in pursuit.

Roebuck says during the foot chase the suspect reached into his pocket, so the deputy fired his weapon, killing the suspect.

Roebuck says investigators recovered a gun.

The deputy was not injured.  He will be on paid administrative leave while TCSO investigates, which is normal protocol for a situation like this.

The sheriff's office says that the address where the 911 call came from, has a history of domestic violence calls. TCSO has not released the identity of the suspect.
