I was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana. Lived and worked in Fort Wayne IN, Jacksonville FL, West Palm Beach FL, Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA and here in Tulsa.
I consider myself someone who can associate with the best of aristocrats or sit around the pickle barrel and talk about last week’s strawberry harvest with your uncle in Stilwell, OK. I’ve never met a stranger. I got that from my dad.
I enjoy the finer things in life, but also appreciate the simple routines that make life so rich. I’ve lived full life thus far, some good, some not so good, and learned more about myself and the world around me along the way. I love to perform music on stage, make people laugh and laugh at people. I got that from my mom.
I'm athletic and try to keep in shape. I like to get my hands dirty. I have a sensitive nose, love the smell of decaying leaves on the forest floor, Gain detergent, an ocean shore, a striking match, coffee brewing, fresh cut grass, an elegant perfume, burning sage, the smell of a baby's head. And, I have a keen eye for grace, elegance, and kids play.
I love the words beneath the music of Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Hank William Jr., Exile, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Webb, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, Ira Gershwin, Mack Gordon, Brooks and Dunn as well as the rhythmic husks of my soul.
John Kennedy shook my hand in 1963. I went to my first Indianapolis 500 in 1964. My news story appeared on network TV in 1975. Loretta Young kissed me in 1983. My beautiful daughter was born in 1985. I played with Ella Fitzgerald in 1986, Mel Torme in 1987, Buddy Cattlet in 1997 and Billy Parker in 2005. 150 kangaroos came through my campground in Australia in 1995. When the new millennium came, I spent New Years Eve 1999 at the Hillsboro, OR Elks Club Vince Vaughn, Jackie Chan and Julia Louis Dreyfuss and I hung out in LA in 2002. My favorite character from the “Wizard of OZ’ is the Tin-Man.
