Wendy’s Benefit Day For Tulsa Police Officers’ Memorial

  • Print

WHERE: Wendy’s at 81st and Memorial

WHEN: Thursday, April 25, 2013

Twenty years ago, Gus Spanos stopped a car in north Tulsa.  The car had a burned out bulb in the rear.  Moments later, he was shot in the head by a person who was carrying illegal narcotics in that car.  George “Lee” Brady was killed while he was trying to stop a speeding vehicle!

Every new Tulsa Police Officer takes an oath of office which contains the following statement: “I will protect the Rights, Lives, and Property of all citizens and uphold the honor of the Police Profession, WITH MY LIFE, if need be.”  The Tulsa Police Officers’ Memorial site is next to the Police Academy where new officers take this oath.  It is on 66th Street North, just east of Highway 75.  This is a place of remembrance, honor, and peace for the community, fellow officers and family members.

Completing and maintaining this memorial costs money and we need your help!

To help support this worthwhile cause, Wendy’s at 81st and Memorial will hold a “Benefit Day” to raise money for the Memorial.  10% of all sales will be donated from open to close on Thursday April 25th!  So come by and enjoy GREAT FOOD while supporting a GREAT CAUSE!

In addition, we invite you to participate in the COP LAND CLASSIC Bicycle Ride on Saturday May 18th.  Proceeds from this event will help finish the construction of the Memorial, to sustain the grounds, and continue our annual service for officers like Gus and “Lee”!
